Atribuição: esta resolução do Secretariado Unificado da IV Internacional foi publicada sem assinatura em julho de 1977, e o texto impresso não nomeia o seu autor. Figura aqui como redigida por Ernest Mandel. É a primeira versão da resolução da Internacional sobre a democracia socialista, revista para o Congresso Mundial de 1979, onde Mandel a apresentou, e adotada na sua forma definitiva em 1985. O obituário de Mandel no Inprecor (n.º 394, setembro de 1995, p. 17, nota 3) chama-lhe «o inspirador e principal redator» da resolução.
